LA Design Week/end

We started LADW to celebrate the full spectrum of Los Angeles design culture — from architecture and interiors to furniture, fashion, and experimental work. The weekend unfolds as a progression across neighborhoods, inviting people to move through the city discovering studios, exhibitions, and creative spaces.

At its core, LADW is about community. Experiencing design together in real life — walking through the city, meeting in studios, starting conversations — creates connections that continue long after the weekend ends.

And you just might fall in love — with the city, the work, or someone you meet along the way.

Holland is the founder of LA Design Weekend, a citywide festival that brings together studios, showrooms, galleries, and designers across Los Angeles.

Unlike traditional design fairs, LADW unfolds across multiple neighborhoods over a long weekend, encouraging visitors to move through the city and experience design where it actually happens.

What makes the weekend special is how community and collaboration emerge in real time. As people move through the city together — visiting studios, exhibitions, and gatherings — new friendships form, creative partnerships begin, and designers connect with audiences in a way that feels organic and alive.

At the same time, visitors discover Los Angeles itself. The weekend becomes a way to experience the city through its creative spaces, neighborhoods, and communities — discovering LA alongside the art and design that shape it.

In just a few years, LA Design Weekend has grown into one of the most exciting moments in the design calendar, drawing designers, galleries, brands, and visitors from across the country and around the world.
